This is the first time in 13 years I went out with the shotgun. The only reason I did though cause my son wanted to take out his new rifle and he wanted me to come along so I went and took the shotgun with me. We didn't see any.

At 9:15 I had a small 6 and a decent 8 walk in behind me and wouldn't you know it they bedded down 45-50 yards behind me on the neighbors property. They are still there, waiting on them to make a move onto this property and hopefully be able to bag the 8. He's not huge but looks like a decent buck. Wish they'd move soon cuz my a** is numb lol.

not hunting here, but just got back from my buddys butcher shop to see how the check in has been going,
so far super SLOW, just 4 deer, 3 buck and one doe, last yr at this time had over 50+ deer
behind my place 2 big hunting clubs and almost zero shooting from sunrise to about 1 pm when I left

almost doesn't even seem like opening day of gun season here.
yrs back was like WW2 shooting all day long

PA, has sure changed in its deer and deer hunter numbers, a LOT less than ever if you ask me!
good luck to all out there hunting

this cold front should help maybe

So I wasn't able to connect with the bow yet but after 3 hours of watching those 2 bucks bedded, we were able to get them on their feet and on our side of the fence. I was able to take a chunk out of the what I thought was an 8 pointer and dropped him about 35 yards from the stand. He turned out to be a 10 pointer with double split brow tines. Like I said earlier, not the biggest buck but a hard earned buck and a lot of stress off of my shoulders now, lol. Oh yeah and when your truck is down you might just have to use your lil work car to haul him home!
