First bow kill this morning

He is my favorite, though I have much larger ones now.

Don't want to hijack the thread though, my point was a first bow kill is something to be proud of whether it is a spike or monster. Not everyone is a trophy hunter. Yes, the antlers are nice and some of us decide to wait for something larger at a certain point. However, I will never get on someone who is putting food on the table. I'm sure if a doe would have come by and RDavis had a shot, he would've taken it, but his 1st bow kill being a buck makes it that much more special.

First, Congrats! That's really exciting! I recently just got my first (recovered) bow kill, a button buck. I couldn't tell when I shot, but it was made of skin, bones and meat just the same- which is why I was hunting. Nice work and I hope God provides you with many more :)
