Got my 2010 buck back today

I was lucky enough to get this deer on public land in Ohio the first week of November in 2010. I got it to my taxidermist the next week upon returning home. It was such a great trip. It was the first hunt I ever did with my older brother and we created a lifetime of memories in that 1 week. About a year later the taxidermist called with bad news. The fur pulled out in large patches from the tannery. He told me I better come over and look at it.

The next day I went over to look at the hide. I was very dissapointed when he said the only thing we could do was get another cape. He could tell that it really bothered me and he said he may be able to find some hides that were close and do some surgery and use the majority of my deer. I told him I would really like him to use as much of my deer as possible. About 4 weeks ago he called me in again to look at all the capes he had as doners and we selected one that was very close. He then worked at cutting , splicing and sewing the hides together. He had me over one last time to inspect cape before mounting on the form. I know he spent a tremendous amount of time doing this and the end result is amazing. He only charged me for a normal mount but I gave him a little extra for a job well done.

I am tearing one of my old barns down so I used some of the wood to make the pedestal and I found that shed on the base in Kentucky 2 weeks ago while down there hunting.

He did a great job for you. And that is a very nice buck.
I may be opinionated...but, my opinion is the only one that matters anyway.
