Do these ever change much following public comment phase?
The Ohio Wildlife Council is seeking public input on several hunting proposals for the 2016-17 deer season. The proposals include keeping county and state bag limits the same and moving the north/south waterfowl zones farther north.
The proposed deer hunting seasons dates are as follows:
•Deer archery: Sept. 24, 2016 through Feb. 5, 2017
•Youth deer gun: Nov. 19-20, 2016
•Deer gun: Nov. 28-Dec. 4, 2016 and Dec. 28-29, 2016
•Deer muzzleloader: Jan. 14-17, 2017
There will be an open house at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife office in Athens on Saturday, March 5. Directions are available at www.wildohio.gov or by calling 800-WILDLIFE. The public can give comment about fishing, hunting and trapping regulations with ODNR officials. There is also an online form on the ODNR website to leave comments there until Sunday, March 6.
