Hi guys I was wondering if you could give me some advice on some state land to check out to hunt. I'm from PA and want to go on my first hinting trip with buying a new home and my fist child just born this past August I can't afford a lease yet or to go on a outfitted hunt just looking for advise and some help thanks

ok I'm about 3 hrs east of you
or would have offer to meet up and show you a few places on a map
but too far I think for that!
SO??
MOST of SE ohio has a LOT of good public lands
but like all things
pressure from easy access and such will change deer movements
but there are ALWAYS big bucks killed down that way
and a ton of land
the Wayne is huge and spread out all over that area
as well as many parks and public grounds all about this area
only way to get good spots is to go and put some boot time down
and always keep in mind, that good NOW in off season might mean crowded in hunting season all the more so the RUT
based on HOW many acres of food plots Ohio Game dept plants
I think WAY to many people miss the boat NOT hunting them EARLY, as soon as things get started
and all wait till the RUT and then over pressure deer real fast making them nocturnal
first week to me I think might be the best time to kill a buck in Ohio on public lands,
few hunters, deer still on feeding patterns and had a yr to relax!
