OK so I mentioned in my Coyote hunting post about how i fond a dead bear, but didn't have a camera on me
so I went back today to try to get some pic's
not the best, but with the snow and the fact it was frozen to the ground, I couldn't roll it over to ID sex,
its about a 300-350 lb, 6 ft bear
I am guessing it was hit by a car and died here
some one came and cut a couple claws off the one foot I dug off, or a critter did, but lean towards a person doing it
its on public hunting lands about 500 yrds off a county road, so lots of folks walk about this area

but its still a cool find I think, not a shed, but still cool!
be back out this weekend in another coyote contest too!

yea I always do
they said they knew about it, and didn't really care other wise
which is odd, as most times when a bear is involved, there like to pull teeth and do studies on them, for age, and possible cause of death?
but just after deer season, I guess there busy with????
don't find many bears dead to be honest, this yr I did call in 3 different bears, two were just hit on the road as I was driving by, and this one
never had that many in one yr thats for sure
odd yr for bears for me, had one here that was stilactive till second week in Jan
think if the cold front that showed up didn't come when it did , he wouldn't have been out all yr LOL

That appeared to be a very nice bear....have only ever seen 2 bear in the wild, one in West Virginia in the Cranberry Outback, and a very large one in Kentucky at Kingdom Come State Park. Some day I would like to hunt for a nice Black Bear, but prioritys first. Still trying for my first Elk! Nice pics mrbb! Thanks for sharing......

That's the one thing I absolutely miss going to do and that's bear hunt. The year I went all the preparation up to even arriving at the camp I had that feeling of 'aah might as well give it a try'. I didn't have a big desire to do it but my buddy Ed talked me into it. Man that first evening sitting in the stand and seeing bear, then a momma and her 3 cubs and all the incredible action....man I became addicted fast! Only problem has been finances to get to go do it!! What a rush to have a bear at the base of your tree starting to climb or another that spots you and decides to rush the tree 5 feet from you and make it half way up! Absolutely LOVE it!

thanks guys, I agre bears are just cool ass critter
I have been very lucky , I have a ton of experience with bears, lived near and known well, one of the greatest bear experts in the world,Mr Gary Alt, I help tag a few bears with him yrs back, and I have had numerous folks that
like it or not, fed the crap out of bears, so I have fed many wild bears out of my hand cookies and such
wouldn't suggest doing that , but its something I have done
I also live in a bear rich area, besides winter time, its not uncommon for me to see then a few times a week, and they hit the bird feeders daily if I fill them
and I agree nothing like the rush and thrill of having one climb up a tree your in
once had one climb up and lick one of my boots
exciting and defenietly something you never forget
but bears are courious critters much more than agressive think your food types
sure they need respect, but there just big strong animals
not out to kill you! 99.9% of the time any how LOL
