Just got back from my first ever hunt in Colorado and I am sure it won't be my last. Ended up harvesting a 280" 5X6 Elk (my first Elk ever) and a 175" Mule Deer. Elk was shot over a water hole at 25 yards and the Mule Deer was a spot and stalk shot at 58 yards.

Congrats..very very nice.
well congrats
and I know all too well the feeling, once you go out west you end up going back again and again, a kill makes it a little sweeter, but its a great time no matter !!
good luck now closer to home, could be a hell of a yr for you at this rate!!
Congrats!! I can't see the pics for some reason though? They have an x on where the image should be!

Great job! If you don't mind me asking, were you on a guided hunt or DIY? I'm looking for a guided hunt in CO next fall to show me the ropes how to elk hunt then I'm going to get into DIY the following years.

You didn't say if this was a guided hunt or Diy.I have been to WY 3 times (never enough) and have done it 3 different ways.I always enjoy a DIY opposed to any other type of hunt.Anyway "Great Job".

Thanks guys. This was a semi-guided hunt. We hunted on private land. The owner had a place for us to stay and showed us the water holes and the overall lay of the land but it was up to us to get it done. It was an awesome hunt for my 1st trip ever to Colorado and I am already making plans to go back next year.

Great job. One of these days I will get out there and take out a big bull from those Colorado mountains. Hope your season is filled with continued success.
