I'm in SW Ohio & am getting killed by corn prices. Certainly there has to be a better option than Wal-Mart.
Has anyone found a good source?

I'm not familiar with those. What kind of prices are you getting?
well see other post on this, but try your local corn farmers, just go with plans to buy at least a 100 lbs at a time or more, and most will be glad to sell you some for cash!
should be about 15-17 bucks a 100 lbs off the husk, and less if still on it!, as you just get less corn per lb that way!
also can try the Amish too, they don't use the pricier round up corn seed, thus can sell it for less due to it just costs them less to buy thy seed/grow it!

We have been buying both corn and feed. The corn had been around $10 for 50#. Not much cheaper than feed. The problem is with all the crops still standing all we are feeding is coons. Last year at the feed mill we were getting 100# for $15.

corn fields are starting to get picked here in central Ohio......Clark and Madison county anyway, heard some south (Ross County) have already been picked?
most of the farmers dont care if you ask them to drive through a picked field (as long as dry)and toss the corn on the cob that is laying on the ground into a truck or trailer pulled by a 4wheeler......they have some high tech equipment anymore but they still leave a bunch on the ground......just get it quick before it does rain and get to rotting it on the ground

I've been getting hammered with corn prices as well! I've been trying to find some amish to buy from but not much luck. I'm paying like 8.60 for 40#

I buy from Tractor Supply for $10.99/50lbs. I know that is high but the store is 2 miles from the house. The local grainery is 15 miles away and in the wrong direction so too far to save a mere $4 for 100lbs. I think corn prices are jacked anyhow because we supposedly have several years worth of corn sitting in storage. Somewhere I read to use sweet feed instead as it is about $1 less per 50lbs.
