Alaska Black Bear

One week to go and I'll be headed to Alaska on an unguided Black Bear hunt. We'll be on an uninhabited island. Suppose to be 4.5 bears per square mile. Spot and stalk and I am taking my bow.

one word thermacell!!!

get one , take two, and lots of refills,
trust me, well worth the cost and then some

and get good bug spray,
even if you just use at camp, it makes this trip tons better

and good luck, thats an awesome place to go,
even without a hunt

I heard you couldn't fly with the thermacell butane bottles . Is that true?

not possitive, have to chech withy what ever aior lines you are using

r go buy them once there

most walmarts sell them

I am guessing you are flying into Anchorage

there is many stores theer that will sell them
you can even buy from wally world, and have sent to the stroe there for pick up,

trust me, you will be glad to have them, well worth the trouble, your going on a great hunt, why not spend a little more and enjoy it more!!
black flys there can be unreal! not just the biting, just the dam buzzing in your ears up your nose in your eye's and mouth

them therma cells, will make about 70% of them leave you alone once you sit still a little

that or pray its cold and windy LOL

go to wally world online, buy, and they will ship to store for free in store pick up, then you will know its there!! if the airline won't allow you to fly them

Good luck and enjoy the country up there!! I was up there last year and it's an amazing place if you've never been. I'll be on the other side of the continent from you in Newfoundland going after balck bear at the same time! We'll have compare pics later lol.

wow. i really want to tag a long with you. im looking at trying to go on a bow hunt up there in the next two years for either caribou or moose.
