Hunter safety course

Yep, back when I first started hunting in the late 1980's.

I got my license the year before the hunter's safety course was required. I did take it with kids though.

You just reminded me the same thing nomad! I took it when I was 11 years old, had to be 12 to actually hunt in Michigan and thank goodness for a September birthday. When my wife decided to give hunting a try I took it a second time then.

Bought my first license in 1965 (and one every year since then) before course was enacted so I never took it, but I did take my grandson for his course.

took my course in 2002. It was the only way to hunt alone when your sixteen with no other family members that hunt with.

I took mine in 2010, didnt have to when I got my license, but I hunted Ft Bragg and to hunt there you have to have taken the course no matter your age. They offered the course there, it was worth it I believe.

I'll be honest I never took the course. I walked in and took the test though 99 out of 100 lol.
